LIVE FROM THE RED CARPET! - it's the royal wedding!

good morning! i have been up for a little while taking in the royal arrivals to westminster abbey and am very excited to start live blogging.  while exhausted, the monumental event is quickly waking me up!

how about that prince william? didn't he look dashing and beyond excited when entering westminster abbey?  and prince harry...love! he looks even more handsome (i didn't even know that was possible) in his uniform.

and carol middleton looked like the picture perfect mother of the bride. stay tuned as we continue to live blog...right now i am going to check out prince charles and camilla entering westminster abbey!

5:48am: the queen is arriving! abc is telling touching stories about prince phillip, william's grandfather and the role he took after the death of princess diana...is 5:45 too early to start to tear up?

5:51: first kate middleton sighting!! love the dress already! i also love that even though this is a royal wedding it is very much a traditional family oriented wedding,  seeing kate drive to the wedding with her dad shows how close her family is.

5:52: kate middleton's dad is watching her transform from "his beautiful little girl, to the wife of a prince."  tear! i hope my dad feels like that on my wedding day (metaphorically speaking)!

5:55: kate is smiling, waving, looking calm.  i wonder how calm she feels inside.  i can't imagine what her thoughts are like right now...

5:58: could you imagine having so many people watch you on your wedding day?  i would be beyond nervous. sidenote - that tiara and hairstyle is p-e-r-f-e-c-t.  i bet she is laughing at everyone who called her waity katie now.

6:00: my friend heather just texted me "this is just like the real life princess diaries." true story, except i think kate is even prettier than anne hathaway if that is possible. although prince william is looking handsome, he is still no chris pine sadly.

6:00:  why do i have butterflies?!?

6:01: kate is walking into the abbey...LOVE LOVE LOVE

read the rest of our comments after the jump!

6:03: does anyone else wish they could read lips right now? (as kate and her father are about to begin the long walk)

6:05: this is perfect. kate is stunning, pippa is the ideal maid of honor, william looks like a kid in a candy shop, and harry is h-o-t. i knew i had a thing for red heads for a reason.

6:08: william just told kate "you look beautiful." with a huuuuuge smile on his face!!! i can read lips!  tearrrrrrs

6:10: i cannot get enough of this.  this is a solid future of england at the front of webminster abbey. i would be so proud to be british.

6:13: just realized why i am so excited about this, it is combining my two favorite things - weddings and royals.

6:17: i think i want an accent now.  the vows are so much more romantic with an accent.

6:19: i still think that william should wear a wedding ring...

6:20: is it just me or is this wedding flying by?  luckily my roommate and i printed out the program so we could keep track.  we are curled up on our couch drinking tea and eating scones wishing we could be there.

6:23: alanna - any chelsy davy spottings yet??

6:24: glad to see that kate's brother, James, carries the family tradition of poise and good looks.

6:28: no, no sign of chelsy yet.  maybe it is my lucky day and her coming was just a rumor!

6:31: these choir boys are adorable...but where are the girls??

6:35: does anyone know how many languages the princes speak?  with a grandfather who was the former prince of greece and denmark, they must speak several, right?

6:42: okay i am ready for them to show more of the prince and princess (!) and less of the choir.

6:52: i take back what i said about the ceremony flying by.  in the meantime i found this picture through the NYTimes twitter feed and thought i'd share.  stunning.

6:54: did you notice that the queen doesn't sing during god save the queen? i love that her husband does though.

7:00: today i think i will ride in a horse-drawn royal carriage as well.

7:05: this is the best walk down the aisle that i have ever seen.  aren't harry and pippa the perfect best man/maid of honor ever??

7:09: i wish i was outside of westminster abbey right now.  also, i cannot get over that veil and tiara are, kate looks so regal.

7:19: haha prince harry at the kids table (carriage)

7:20: just got a glimpse of prince harry in the carriage with the littlest of the bridesmaids...swooning.

7:32: as the royal family enters buckingham palace, we are going to end our live blogging and get ready to go back to our real life, although i'm not sure how you focus on work after a morning like this.  we will do a few follow-up posts later today and next week, especially on the balcony welcome that will be happening in just 50 minutes.  thanks for joining us this morning and have a wonderful day!
