pretty pretty
i love so much about this picture that i just wanted to share it with all of you :) the bride's gorgeous dress, the oh so pretty beach backdrop, but most especially the little boy is too rad for words. with his glasses, yellow chucks, and ridiculously cute tie...this boy is way cooler than i will ever be for sure. check out the rest of this beautiful wedding here.

just another reason to love chocolate
good news! now it's okay to eat chocolate as much as i actually crave it!
in a study conducted by the hersey centre for health & nutrition, dark chocolate, cocoa, and hot chocolate mix were compared to fruit juices containing acai berries, cranberries and pomegranates. the researchers concluded that both dark chocolate and cocoa have more antioxidants and more flavonols than fruit. big deal people!! these are the things that protect us from cancer and heart disease. this earns chocolate the title of "super food".
here's the catch: it's only products derived from cacao seeds (like cocoa powder and dark chocolate), and if the chocolate is heated the health benefits are destroyed.
so either it's true or it's the greatest marketing ploy of all time. but does it really matter?

greetings from disney!
hello darlings! as you may have noticed, i've been a little mia this week. well that's because i've been in disney world for my cousin's wedding! it was a beautiful ceremony and an amazing getaway, but i won't lie, i missed blogging. but it's back to reality... i'm sitting at the orlando international airport right now, awaiting my flight home to philadelphia and let's just say that i'm so sad to be going from this...

to this...

but the good news is i have lots of stories from the vacation and a few in particular that i'll be sharing with you next week. here's a hint: i found a totally adorable little shop in the middle of downtown disney that has nothing to do with mouse ears or animation.
a salad i'd be happy eating any day
as spring is almost on the horizon (winter will be over soon, i swear!), i am starting to try and eat a little healthier and get a little more bathing suit ready before spring training in march. this salad from the spring 2010 sweet paul magazine will probably become a regular for me. its delicious, healthy and easy to make! (isn't the styling so pretty too? i wish i could make my salads look like that)

my roommate shared this exciting news with me the other day...you can stay at the actual hotel dirty dancing was filmed at. mountain lake hotel in pembroke, va is open year-round to visitors and get this - have dedicated "dirty dancing weekends." these weekends are action-packed and filled with activities like a dirty dancing trivia game, dance lessons, and screening of the movie. i bet you can move just like patrick swayze by the end of the weekend.

i wonder if the dance lessons are in this room!
wouldn't this be such a fun trip to take with your girlfriends? i bet you'd have the time of your life! (cheesy comment...i know)

i'll give you a winter prediction: it's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life.
woo hoo! fortunately that quote from groundhog day isn't true...puxatony phil is ready to be done with winter too! he didn't see his shadow this morning which means spring will be coming 6 weeks early (i am going to try and ignore the fact that it is so cloudy and rainy today that he probably couldn't see his shadow anyways). doesn't it seem a little funny to think about spring since there is a colossal storm sweeping across the country. to get a little more in the mood...here are some cute items that are getting me excited for spring :)
i love these bensimon shoes with both jeans and shorts so they are the perfect transition as the weather gets warmer.
love that this forever 21 dress could go with tights and boots or a pair of flip flops...i am tempted to buy it now so i can it wear with both!
looking at this wildflower garden kit from terrain makes me want to put on some gloves, get out a shovel and become a gardener
this scarf from jcrew screams spring to me...the canary yellow can brighten any rainy spring day.
it might be the dutch in me, but i am dying to buy these cards to send notes to my friends and family this spring. wouldn't they make adorable easter cards?
this tory burch pullover would be the perfect addition to any spring break trip. if only the stripes were red instead and it would be a must have for my trip to the phillies spring training!
hope everyone stays warm and has a wonderful groundhog day!

jessie-boo did an excellent job showcasing the best dressed women at sunday's sag awards (can i somehow pay to be julie bowen when i get older??)...so i thought i would provide a little eye candy to get you through the day and give my picks on the best dressed and most swoon-worthy men.
now we are counting down the days to the oscars to see the ultimate red carpet! but until then...we'd love to know, do you think we left anyone out of our best dressed list? did anyone really surprise you with their outfits?

love love LOVE this entire ensemble. the gold cuff and bright green earrings are the surprisingly perfect match to this lemon cream colored dress.
mila kunis:
at first i wasn't sure. but she's so hot that i think she made me fall in love with the dress, too.
lea michele:
so much sparkle!
sofia vergara:
this hip-hugging dress says to women all over the world, "rock your curves!" and i love the jewel-toned color!
hilary swank:
i think the color washed her out a little, but overall the dress was beautiful
