vintage valentines

valentine's day is just two weeks away, and people are starting to stock up on cards and gifts for their loved ones. so i thought i'd share some sweet vintage valentine cards that i found on starmango's etsy shop:

defrosting

we got off to a rough start this morning with cars stuck in the ice and keys locked in the house.  after sitting outside in the cold for 2 hours, i am curled up inside trying to defrost and get some work done.  while 80% of my body is still frozen all i can think about is the summer and the beach.  wouldn't it be wonderful to be sitting on this beach right now?

state of the union

i have to admit, i am looking forward to watching the state of the union tonight.  i love how rich in traditions america is and the state of the union is a great example of that.  regardless of the president's political party, it is always interesting to hear their input and forecast of the upcoming year and america's future. 

tonight's speech always puts me in a patriotic mood and makes me want to buy cute usa things...kind of like this map. i have been dying to have a cute office where i could hang it, it's so awesome. 

looking at it reminds me of a time jess and i tried to name all 50 states during a training session (we weren't bored at all)... can you name them? it was kind of tough!

something fun: a colorscope

today i came across this neat little colorscope on paper-source.com. you can click on your favorite colors to reveal what it might mean about your personality. what color are you?

i secretly love all of these colors, but the one my eyes were immediately drawn to was papaya, so i clicked... papaya: you are a great champion of the helpless and defender of the underdog. you have an amazing ability to get things done, as well as to fix things.

didn't exactly fit me, so i clicked on all the colors to see which one i thought described me the best. turns out, it's red. coincidence that it's right next to papaya? maybe my eyes were subconsciously drawn to the red, but since i don't actually like the color red i clicked on the one right next to it because it's prettier?

as usual, i'm probably over-analyzing. either way, the colorscope is a fun way to learn something new! check it out!

after a six week winter hiatus, gossip girl is finally back with new episodes starting tonight! before the break, dan and blair were surprisingly spending time together and it looks like we're coming back from the break with serena and chuck becoming allies in the battle against lily. perhaps a little romantic switcheroo? hopefully not - we heart chuck and blair. either way, there's bound to be tons of drama, and we can't resist! we'll be watching...will you??

alanna can't stop talking about her ipad (that she doesn't have yet). the smart girl that she is, she's waiting for the second generation. but i'm not as patient, so i wanted to give her four more reasons to get excited for her ipad...

it was only 7 degrees out on our ride into work this morning...pretty rough for a monday.  i am feeling a little under the weather so combined with the cold, i would have been much happier staying in bed and catching up on last night's episode of kim and kourtney take new york.  i bet if i had this cute print hanging in my room, getting out of bed would have been that much happier.
